The Fall of Man, Part 1

Symbolic or Literal, the Meaning of the Fruit

The Fall of Man tutorial explores the symbols and archetypes rendered in the Genesis story of Adam and Eve. The objective is to decipher their meaning in a way that sheds light on problems with which we struggle to this day. The first presentation reveals that there is greater meaning to the eating of the “forbidden fruit” then the mere consumption of produce. Indeed, Jesus affirms as much when he asserts that “its not that which goes into the mouth that defiles a man, it is that which comes out.” Play video

The Fall of Man, Part 2

The Identity of the Serpent

The Serpent in Eden entices the children of God to forego their allegiance to God’s commandment not to eat the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Who is the serpent? Is the Serpent a slithering asp or an intelligent entity employing an evil agenda shaped of a corrupted wisdom? If so, is it an entity that endures to this day manifesting equally enticing schemes that, likewise, lead us down our own primrose paths? Play video

From Good to Evil, the Process of the Fall

If God did not create evil, from where did evil come? Evil is derived from the corruption of Good. In this presentation, we examine the step by step process by which an Archangel of God is transformed into a competing evil sovereign in battle against the God of Good for ultimate dominion over humanity and the universe. If this sounds a little like Star Wars to you, the parallel is more than a coincidence. Play video

The Fall of Man, Part 4

Reversal of Dominion

We continue in our examination of the process of the Fall. In this presentation, we discover the true nature of the forbidden fruit and that Lucifer was the first one who sought to replace God's love with a substitute. Instead of generating a true joy anchored in absolutes, Lucifer instigates a pattern of self-destructive behavior justified by a vacillating relativist code of conduct. Play video

The Fall of Man, Part 5

The Consequences of the Fall

We conclude our examination of the process of the Fall by discovering that the ideal of love was lost by the first human ancestors. In its place, a corrupted archetype emerges with a false god claiming sovereignty over the first human ancestors and their extending lineage. Satan becomes a reality and the most shocking discovery of all is that it would have never been possible without the voluntary cooperation of our first human ancestors.

Thus the history of mankind begins with the tragic loss of God's ideal and purpose of creation. The subsequent goal, in response to this tragedy, becomes the recovery of this intended plan; a plan that will require the return of a new Adam. Play video

Reasons God did not Intervene in the Fall

Our final section on the Fall of Man delves into the age-old questions: Why did God not stop the fall? Why does God permit evil and why doesn't God come down and do something about injustice, war and pestilence in the modern world? Could this be passive evidence that God doesn't really care or is simply not as powerful as we once thought?

Some believe that God is imposing a grand plan of salvation that, of course, needs sin to be present as an integral component. On the other hand, the Book of Genesis reveals a God who is devastated by the betrayal of a depraved humankind. This presentation reveals that false assessments of God as disinterested, detached or impotent are actually due to our own ignorance of the real processes of his intervention. Play video
