Losing a child must be the most painful experience a person can ever experience. I lost my younger brother when he was only 6 and I was 9, and my parents suffered so much, particularly my mother. They blamed themselves. It was hard to stop crying for all of us for a very long time.
To lose both/all of one's children must be the worst possible thing to go through, yet there is a way to leave a legacy behind: adoption would be my first suggestion. My wife and I could not have our own children, so we adopted, and our son is such a blessing to us.
Also, by living for others in some way, doing something of benefit just because it is good for somebody else, we may leave behind something that yields happy rewarding memories for years and years. Doing good things for others is itself the greatest legacy we can leave, it seems to me. Being unselfish and thinking of others, being a net giver, rather than a receiver, is the best reward ... I believe.
You are carrying such an incredible burden. . .to have buried two children is truly unimaginable for most of us who are parents. I would say that whereas it is very understandable that you would feel a loss of hope, it is still not the way that you should feel or need to feel. I would suggest that you find other parents that have gone a similar course and find out how they dealt with it. . .only they can truly understand what you are going through and can give you real reasons to know that hope for future happiness for you and all your family is still a real and living hope. God bless you and I will pray for your family.
My 19 yr old son died in a car accident in Dec 2006. It has been very difficult for me. I also lost my daughter at the age of 25 to a car accident as well in 1996. So I have lost both of my children now to car accidents. But my sons death has been the most difficult. He was our last hope for the future and we now feel lost without him. We will no only not have him, but no grand children, no one to carry on our legacy. It is hard.
I'M SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO IF I LOST MY KIDS, BUT I DO BELIEVE THAT GOD USES EVERY SITUATION AND HE DOESN'T PUT YOU THOUGH SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN'T HANDLE, SO JUST KEEP THE FAITH AND GOD IS GOING TO PROVE HIS SELF TO YOU IN A MAJOR WAY.
